Term Three 2011
This term Room 15 welcomes Sebastian and Quinn.
Classroom Activities
Checkerboard
We can do long multiplication on the checkerboard. It is much easier if you know the times tables. It is easier than we thought it would be.
By Nicholas and Orlando
Fractions
I got the fraction circles. A fraction is part of the whole circle.
By Quinn
Division Board
Every skittle has to have the same number of beads. I have to share the beads out evenly.
By Curran
Racks and Tubes
I can do division with the racks and tubes. You put a number of beads in the cups. Then you share out the beads to the skittle on the boards. You can check your answer on the back of the activity card.

Catwalk Arts 2011
Elise entered the "Creative Families Section" of the Wearable Art Awards. Elise’s "Queen of Hearts" (awarded second!) was inspired by the Queen of Hearts nursery rhyme and was made entirely of playing cards. Amazing job Elise!
Mackenzie 2nd from right
Northland Gymnastic Championships
Mackenzie competed at the Northland Gymnastic Championships as an individual and part of a team. Events included the floor, beam, uneven bars and the vault. Mackenzie is a member of the Mahurangi Gymnastics Level 2 team that won the team gold medal. Mackenzie got 6th overall for her individual performance. Great effort Mackenzie!
School Cross Country
Great to see so many students participating in cross country. It was a fun afternoon and wonderful to hear students supporting their fellow classmates and friends.
Performing Arts Festival
The Performing Arts Festival was absolutely fantastic. The students showcased their talents with confidence and flair. Well done to the children in Room 15 who participated including producer, Judi Clark for a great show.
Matakana Village Art
Jane got up early one morning and took some photos of Matakana village shops. She put the photos on the data projector and we sketched the buildings as carefully as we could. When we had finished, they looked lovely and I am getting a diary and a calendar.
By Sophie
Jane took photos of Matakana village. She put the photos onto the data projector for us to sketch. We chose the three pictures we wanted and coloured them in neatly. I am going to buy a calendar for my bedroom because I think it is a great picture.
By Nicholas
