Sentence Analysis
I looked at the parts of a sentence. I know the action and the subject.
The symbol for the action is a large red circle. It is the same symbol for the verb because the action is a verb.
The subject is a black circle. Black is used for the noun.

Wastewise Audit
Room 15 assisted with the annual WasteWise Rubbish Audit from Auckland Council. Students sorted and weighed rubbish to analyse the recycling system at our school. This is part of Matakana School requirements to be a WasteWise accredited school.
Room 15 sorted and weighed the rubbish for our Wastewise audit. I collected the non- recyclable things. There was a lot of rubbish for one day.

Funky Garden Art
At first we walked around the hall looking at all of the plants.
After that, we went up on the stage and we got a scone. The curtains were closed so that nobody could see the flowers and scones and it would be a surprise!
I liked the room 7 display because it had lots of blue.
I loved the Funky Garden Art!

We made a flowerbed for the Funky Garden Art display. We planted some flowers and they were all different types of flowers. We planted Petunia, Marigold and Zinnia.
We had to water them, love them and they needed sun and soil.

It was Thursday and it was the Funky garden Art day. We got to decorate our school hats. I threaded ribbons through my hat and put cloth on the rim. Soon we got our photos taken with the flowers we planted for the flowerbed.
We had to research a flower. My flower was alyssum. We got to go in the hall for the Funky Garden Art display. Our display was called the Flowerbed. We got called up for a surprise behind the curtain. It was some fresh, homemade scones. There was jam and cream on top.
My favourite display was the Tea Party display by Room 5.
The Funky garden Art was really exciting.

Last Thursday, room 15 and the rest of the school, had a Funky Garden Art display. We made a flowerbed and a slideshow. Mackenzie, Orlando and Coco painted the flowerbed frame and then we put the flowers in it! For the slideshow, Jane took a photo of us with the flowers. She took a photo of the flowers everyday so that we could see how much they had grown.

Room 15's Assembly
A wonderful assembly item performed by Room 15 this term. Singing, Montessori bells and tone bars, and a fabulous play “Thidwick the Big Hearted Moose” (Dr Suess) - have a look here for videos of this event! Special thanks to Judi Clark.
End of Year Lunch
As the end of another year draws to a close Room 15 invited parents, siblings and Mr Goosen for a class lunch. Jane presented the children with a card recognising their progress throughout the year. Darrel Goosen and Rachel spoke, presentations were made to Jane, Jude and Judi and a hamburger lunch was enjoyed by all.
